New Area

05 APR 2021

So this was my last week in my area, saying good bye to everyone in the Polo Club Apartment because I leave tomorrow. It has been a really great experience and I have gotten to know people in my area really well. I am excited for my new area and excited to meet new people. However I will also now be on bike instead of car and it just hit 100° yesterday and I'm told it will get 20° hotter than that.

This week we have been making serious progress with our investigators, at the moment we have 2 people on date and one once to move it sooner after watching General Conference.

General Conference was also really great. I enjoyed a lot of the talks and it was cool because we watched a couple sessions with people we are working with. One of the talks that stood out to me was Elder Renlund's talking about how life is unfair, but Jesus Christ felt the most unfairness. It talked about why bad things happen to good people and I really liked it because this question has came up a couple times with people we talk to. A quote I really liked is when he said "Dont be Bitter, be Better through Jesus Christ."

President Nelson also announced a new temple in Elko Nevada! My parents grew up there and a lot of my family lives there. I was really excited for this because I love my family and would love to talk about temples with them. Me and my dad talked about converting his whole family. I think that would be really cool. And with a temple there, that would be awesome to talk about.

Also earlier this week we played basketball with some kids at a Apartment complex and it was super fun, they made fun of one of my companions on how he played but it was so fun. We played and we told them if we win we get to share a scripture. And there was like 15 of them against us 3 and it was a blast. We shared a scripture with them and saw them later that week. And they wanted to play again, and this time a few of them wanted to be on our team. And this time they didn't cuss nearly as much as the first time and a couple of them wanted to read the scripture. It was a really cool experience.

I will miss this area, but it's how the mission goes and I'm excited for my new area!
