Most eventful week!

 01 MAR 2021

This week was very eventful, so after the transfers, me and my companion got another companion named Elder Evans so we are now in a Trio! Not a threesome, its weird when people say that. Anyways, he is from Salt Lake City Utah. And this week has been going really well so far, he is very funny and outgoing and we have gotten a long very well. He is actually very wild and his grandpa is in the 70 and he has take pictures with the prophet a few times. Crazy right? He plays the guitar and also played football. We have been doing a lot of service, mostly picking citrus. Our roommate is now training a new guy as well so there are now 5 of us in this small apartment. It is very cozy one might say.

OMG are you ready for this you guys. Ok so picture this please its 10:38 everyone is already in bed, I was in bed to but wanted to get some water. I get up and don’t turn on the lights because I can kind of see. We use the tap water from the sink. I fill it up and see theres a couple dishes in the sink and then I see a shadow figure in there. Now it was dark but the shadow kind of looked like a bug............. only it was soo big, the size of a small cup........and then IT QUICKLY MOVES ACROSS THE SINK. I jump back turn on the lights, slowly peek... it is the biggest COCKROACH EVER. I did not know they get so big... i have Big hands and the body itself was the length of my palm and the legs and antennas stretched farther. Im like "ELDERS!!, ELDERRRRRRS!!!! They come in and our new companion gets a fat Jar and tries to catch it BOLTS OUT THE DARN SINK, CRAWLS ON THE COUNTER SO FAST AND GOES BEHIND THE DISHWASHER BETWEEN THE CRACKS!! I jump and just get the freak out of the kitchen. And we don’t know what to do now. So... we go to our rooms because our companion tells us just go to bed. Only I cant sleep knowing that little sucker is out there. Anyways so it took my a little to fall asleep because every sensation I felt made me think of the stupid cockroach. We named the cockroach Sully. So we haven’t seen Sully and we have looked for him but we think it was in the sink pipes. So Sully is around the apartment somewhere.

ALSO my Companion Elder Tafuna'i.......... IS GOING BACK TO BRAZIL!! It is very exciting he will be leaving early March. So the thing is my companion is my trainer and he is leaving halfway through this transfer. So Elder Evans just finished his training but wasn’t in the MTC as long as me so we have basically been out for the same amount of time. So Elder Evans will technically finish my training, its funny because he is wild and I feel more comfortable leading all the things it just feels like I know more. He’s very funny though my companions don’t get a long too much but we still get the work done if we are guided by the spirit. Its also funny that Elder Evans will be training me because we are funny together. So we will see what will happen and we get a long super well.

So I don’t know when I will go back to Brazil but the last 2 people in my exact area have gone back, I’m just learning as much as I can on the mission here and enjoying my time and learning on how to be a missionary better, hopefully that makes the transition to Brazil a bit simpler.

We are doing great with lessons as well, we have been teaching the Gospel and finding new people with FaceBook and using all the tools we can, I am now very good at phone call messages and little conversations like that, I might become a type of salesman after the mission because im so good at it, just kidding. And the people we teach have been doing really great as well. We could actually have a few baptisms soon and I could very well be baptizing a couple. I have been becoming really close with the people we talk to and it really has been going great. Im still practicing Portuguese as much as I can, and making the best out of my time here. Have a blessed week!
