Last week of transfer!
15 FEB 2021
Hope you had an awesome valentines, people like to give treats here in Arizona so our apartment has been full of goodies. This week was great, we are making serious progress with a few great people.
Today we had an important meeting with the Stake President and the Mission President and another important old guy at 7:00am this morning. Ok so usually I get ready pretty quick. But guess what happened, my comp says he will wake up at 6:00, and after hes done with the shower I will go right? So first of all I thought this meeting was online and just with our district, I didnt know important people would be there and I didnt know we had to drive to the church. Ok so my comp wakes up gets in there and finished and then I get it right? I didnt feel I was too long but I didnt check the time or anything. So im JUST getting out of the shower and I hear "Elder its 6:55!" Im like oh crap, I get ready SOOO fast and grab my jacket and name tag and slip my shoes on, and a mask and throw on the shirts, by the way my undershirt was backwards the whole day, and I am leaving the apartment getting everything on. Im in the car and its 6:57, that legit has to be a record of some kind. I tie my shoes and button my shirt and tie my tie and we get to the church and its 7:02, good thing the church wasnt too far. Also my companion was pretty upset and made it known in the car. So we get there, and I know I shouldve been more responsible and on time I know, however, no one seemed to care we slipped right in, no know one even joked or mentioned anything at all. And get this the leaders told me to introduce myself and asked me questions and I was talking and even made then laugh a bit, and we are totally getting a long. It was pretty funny. And then we told them about the people we are teaching and their progress.
Also this week on exchanges I got to lead the area this time with someone else. It was a lot of fun I like leading it better. Anyways we were on bike and we planned the day really well and had a lot of lessons and contacts planned. So the reason I like riding the bikes because we can talk to more people on the way rather than car. So we stopped by Mcdonalds because Elder Swasey wanted some, my companion for the day, and first off someone gave us money to get food so we did, and second there was some people there and I just said "hey hows it going?" And next thing you know we are talking, I ask for their name and their last name is GARCIA, how crazy is that we had a great conversation and we talked about the Book of Mormon a bit and invited them to the Chapel Tour our church is having on Saturday. How crazy would that be if they went to that.
We also had interviews with the Mission President, not too much to say for me, but Elder Francis is moving to the Spanish Ward, I will definitely miss Elder Francis we got along really well at the apartment. But that is great he will practice spanish because honestly hes not that good at it. Also we found out that Elder Swasey is going back to Chile at the end of this month, same time as another Elder in our Zone who is going back to Brazil! So Im curious about my mission.
I have got to know the area a lot better and have gotten better at remembering names. This is the last week for this transfer, so we will see what happens soon I will most definitely stay here for another transfer. My trainer will also most likely be here for one more transfer, but to be honest I dont need a another whole transfer being this guys trainee. I feel like I know enough and I feel like he doesnt have anything else to teach. But we will see how that goes.
I have been eating very well, maybe a little too well hahaha, dont worry we have an hour to workout because of covid regulations from 6:30-7:30am which is great because one of the members let us use their gym which is a blessing for sure.
I will keep posted on news about Brazil once I get them lol, tchau meus queridos!
