Grapefruits and service

 08 FEB 2021

So this was a very busy week! We had more than 5 service projects and we picked too much grapefruit. We have so much at the apartment and now the apartment smells like citrus. We tried giving some away but we just have too much I dont like wasting it so I eat at least 2 grapefruits and 2 oranges a day! I dont even like grapefruit that much. Tbh I have grown a tolerance to it now hahaha i wake up and im like ok wheres my grapefruit. We have had a lot of lessons throughout the week as well and it has been really great.

I am also getting the hang of things really well, inputing information on my daily and weekly reports, cooperating with the Ward leaders and scheduling and following up with appointments, my senior companion from the beginning didnt like answering my questions so I had to learn everything pretty quick hahaha.

This week was just a good week all in all, I feel really comfortable teaching lessons and getting to know all these members and investigators. One of the dinners we had I was making this couple crack up so much we have been having a good time. A couple of the missionaries also said something really nice, saying that I connect with everyone I talk to and just get along with the people we teach which then leads to great lessons.

Also with these families, when they ask would you like some water? Or do you want seconds? Or do you want desert? Or do you want to take some home with you? I am always the guy to say YES. My skinny companions ive had on exchanges and stuff are always like no thank you we are good. Im like "Yes we’d love some and if my companion wont eat it I will."

Lol and also I really do feel everything happens for a reason and that I have been put here because this is where Im supposed to be at the moment. I have met a lot of great people and I am still excited about Brazil but I feel it will come soon. I dont know specifically but rumors still fly around about when so we will see.

However, people are very nice here, well some places lol, but we had a really cool experience we went to this place called Jaybucks which has BBQ. And guess what they have a half off menu for just missionaries! I thought this was awesome, so me and the other Elders (4 of us) order a good amount, because it was my idea to spend the same amount we were planning on having and have twice the amount of food. Ok get this we order and we are about to pay and these random two ladies pay for all of us! I was the only one suprised everyone was like expecting that. So we didnt pay for anything. And theres just something about free food that makes it taste better. So that was very great that would not happen in California I dont think lol.

Also something really funny one of the Elders in my apartment is a double sneezer. Ok but not like "ahh chew!....ahhh cheww!" Not like that, like this "ahhh cheww chewww!!!" I hope you know what I mean. Just read that out loud and you will understand. That's so weird right?? If you do that im sorry but its a little weird.

But anyways this was just another great week of learning, studying and teaching with the Holy Spirit. And having more experiences. And I will keep posted on news about Brazil! Tchau meus queridos!
